Colossians 3:2 says, 'Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.' Short, direct, and easier to misread than you'd think.
'Set your minds' is active. Paul isn't suggesting daydreaming. He's prescribing intentional mental focus. You decide where your thoughts settle.
'Things above' isn't vague spirituality. The previous verse anchors it: 'where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.' So 'above' means Christ's perspective, Christ's priorities, Christ's kingdom.
Paul isn't saying earthly things don't matter. He's saying they don't get final weight. The bills, the news, the worries — they're real, but they're not where your mind lives.
The cliché says people who are heavenly-minded are no earthly good. The opposite is true. People whose minds are fixed on Christ are usually the ones most useful on earth.
