1 Corinthians 10:13 is one of the most pastoral verses Paul ever wrote: 'No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.'
Notice the first thing. 'Common to man.' Whatever you're struggling with — addiction, lust, anger, envy — you are not the first person to face it, and you are not alone in it. Shame loves to whisper 'no one else.' Paul calls that bluff.
Then: 'God is faithful.' That's the anchor. Not your willpower. His faithfulness.
'He will not let you be tempted beyond your ability.' That doesn't mean every temptation is easy. It means none of them is rigged.
And the kicker: 'with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape.' There is always a door. Often it's a person to call, a place to walk away from, a prayer to whisper. Look for it. It's there.
