Perfect peace — for the mind that is stayed on God.
Isaiah's prescription for anxiety: not less to worry about, but a different place to look.
The episode in a glance.
- 01'Perfect peace' is literally 'shalom shalom' — peace, peace.
- 02Available to a mind 'stayed' on God — fixed, leaning into him.
- 03Peace is a byproduct of trust, not an achievement.
- 04Circumstances aren't the variable; focus is.

'You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.' One of the shortest verses in Isaiah, and one of the most quoted.
'Perfect peace' is literally 'shalom shalom' in Hebrew — peace doubled, for emphasis. Not just the absence of conflict. The presence of wholeness.
And it's available, Isaiah says, to a mind that is 'stayed' on God. The word means fixed, leaned into, propped up against. Like a tired person resting their whole weight on a wall.
Notice what changes the peace level. Not your circumstances. Your focus. The same situation can produce panic or peace depending on where your mind is leaning.
And the engine is trust. 'Because he trusts in you.' Peace doesn't come from understanding everything. It comes from trusting Someone who does.
