Read along.

Elijah is exhausted, suicidal, hiding in a cave. God tells him to go stand on the mountain. A great wind tears the rocks. Then an earthquake. Then a fire. God isn't in any of them.

Then comes 'a low whisper.' And Elijah, who slept through prophets and ran from queens, covers his face. That's where God was.

We keep looking for God in the dramatic. The miracle, the breakthrough, the sign. He's usually in the whisper.
