Genesis 6 is grim reading. Violence everywhere. God grieved that he had made humanity. And then, verse 8: 'But Noah found favor in the eyes of the LORD.'
That little word 'but' is the whole point. Judgment was coming, and yet grace had a foothold.
Notice that Noah didn't earn favor — he found it. Like finding a coin on the sidewalk. Grace was already there, waiting.
When the world feels like Genesis 6, God is still writing 'buts' into the story. Be someone he can write one through.
