Isaiah 40:31 — 'They who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles.' This is one of the most quoted verses about endurance. And it's often misunderstood.

'Wait for the Lord' in Hebrew isn't sitting around doing nothing. It's the posture of a servant watching for their master's signal. It's active expectancy. It's trusting that God is moving even when you can't see it.

The promise is 'renew their strength' — not just survive the day, but soar. The image is eagles, not chickens. Eagles don't flap constantly. They find the updraft and ride it.

A lot of our exhaustion comes from trying to generate our own lift. We're flapping hard and getting nowhere. The promise here is that God provides the current — you just have to wait on it and ride it.
