Read along.

Romans 8 opens with one of the most freeing sentences ever written: 'There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.'

Read it word by word. 'No condemnation' — not less condemnation, not lighter condemnation, no condemnation. The verdict is in, and it's not guilty.

'Now' — not someday, not when you finally clean up. Now. Today. In this moment, with all your current mess.

'For those who are in Christ Jesus.' The location of safety is a person. Not a building, not a program, not a track record. You're 'in' him the way a passenger is in a plane — you go where he goes, you arrive where he arrives.

Romans 8 builds from there to one of the highest passages in the Bible. But the foundation is verse 1. No condemnation. Get that settled and the rest of the chapter starts singing.
