Psalm 34:8 — 'Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him.' David is inviting you in.

'Taste' is firsthand. You can read about a meal, look at pictures of a meal, hear someone describe a meal. None of that is the same as putting a bite in your mouth.

David is saying that's how knowing God works. You can read about him, listen to sermons, study theology — and never actually taste him. The invitation is to engage personally.

'And see.' Tasting leads to seeing. Once you've experienced God's goodness in your own life, you start to perceive it everywhere — in scripture, in others, in your own past.

'Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him.' That's the way you taste. By trusting him with something real. Refuge isn't abstract. It's where you actually run when life gets hard.
