I lift up my eyes to the hills.

Psalm 121:1-2: 'I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.'

This is a pilgrim's psalm, sung by travelers heading to Jerusalem. The hills around them could hide bandits — or they could hold help.

'From where does my help come?' The question every believer eventually asks. When the road is steep and the threats are real, where do I look?

'My help comes from the Lord.' Not from the hills themselves. Not from the strength of the traveler. From the maker of those hills.

'Who made heaven and earth.' The God who built the universe isn't going to be stumped by your situation. The help available to you is unlimited.
