Obadiah 1:15: 'For the day of the Lord is near upon all the nations. As you have done, it shall be done to you; your deeds shall return on your own head.'
Obadiah is one short chapter against Edom — the nation that gloated when Jerusalem fell.
God's verdict: as you have done, it shall be done to you. The way you treated Israel will become the way you are treated.
This is a universal principle. The things we do come back to us in some form. God sees, and God repays.
This is sobering for the cruel — and freeing for the wronged. You don't have to take vengeance. The Lord has noted what was done. He'll handle it.
