Love is patient, love is kind.

1 Corinthians 13:4: 'Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant.'

Paul wrote this to a church that was anything but loving.

Patient — slow to react. Kind — actively good to others.

Then the negatives: no envy, no boasting, no arrogance.
