Last updated: January 2025
1. Acceptance of these terms
By accessing or using Plain English Bible (the "Service") — including the website, podcast episodes, email guide, and any related content — you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please discontinue use of the Service.
2. Who we are
Plain English Bible is a daily podcast and email guide that explains a single Bible verse in plain, modern English. References to "we," "us," or "our" refer to the operators of Plain English Bible.
3. Use of the Service
You may listen to episodes, read transcripts, and share links to individual episodes for personal, non-commercial use. You agree not to:
- Reproduce, redistribute, or republish full episodes or transcripts without written permission.
- Use the Service in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations.
- Attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer, or gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service.
- Use automated systems to scrape or harvest content beyond standard podcast feeds.
4. Intellectual property
All original content on Plain English Bible — including episode scripts, summaries, transcripts, artwork, and audio — is the intellectual property of Plain English Bible unless otherwise noted. Scripture quotations are drawn from public-domain and widely-licensed translations and are used in accordance with their respective terms.
5. User-submitted content
If you submit feedback, questions, or suggestions, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, adapt, and reference that content in connection with the Service. We will not publicly attribute your submission without your consent.
6. Third-party services
The Service may link to or be distributed through third-party platforms such as Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube, and email providers. Your use of those platforms is governed by their own terms and privacy policies, which we do not control.
7. Disclaimer
The content on Plain English Bible is offered for educational and devotional purposes. We make a sincere effort to present Scripture accurately and clearly, but the Service is not a substitute for personal study, pastoral counsel, or professional advice. The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Plain English Bible and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of your use of, or inability to use, the Service.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
