'The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.' Jesus draws a sharp line between himself and everything that takes from you.
There's a lot in the world that steals — addictions, lies, exploitative systems, broken relationships. Jesus says: I am not that. I'm the opposite of that.
'Life' here is the Greek word zoe. It's not just biological life — Greek had another word for that. Zoe is the deep, real, capital-L kind of life. The thing you're actually after when you say you want to feel alive.
And 'abundantly' means overflow. More than enough. Not a survival ration. Not the minimum required. A life that runs over the edges.
