'No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.'
Three promises in one verse. First, your temptation isn't a special category of struggle nobody else faces. It's common to man. Which means other people have walked through it and made it out.
Second, God is faithful. He's watching the load. He sets a limit. He doesn't promise temptation will be small — but he promises it won't be more than you can bear with him.
Third, every temptation comes with a way out. There's always a door. The question is whether you'll look for it. Sometimes the door is a phone call. Sometimes it's walking out of the room. Sometimes it's praying out loud.
And notice the goal — 'that you may be able to endure it.' God isn't promising the temptation will vanish. He's promising you'll still be standing on the other side.
