Read along.
Naomi tells her daughters-in-law to go home. They've lost their husbands. Naomi has nothing left to offer. Orpah leaves. Ruth stays.
And Ruth says, 'Where you go I will go, and where you lodge I will lodge. Your people shall be my people, and your God my God.'
It's a vow as deep as any in the Bible, and it's made to a grieving widow, not a king.
Ruth never knew her loyalty would land her in the family tree of David — and centuries later, of Jesus himself. Faithfulness in small stories often turns out to matter more than we knew.
