Isaiah 41:10 — 'Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.' This is one of the most comforting verses in the Old Testament.

'Fear not' is the most repeated command in the Bible. God knows we default to fear. So he keeps saying: don't. Not because there's nothing scary. But because he's with you.

Notice the three promises: I will strengthen you. I will help you. I will uphold you. Not one form of support. Three. Strength for what you face. Help in the middle of it. Upholding so you don't fall.

And the reason for all of it? 'I am with you.' That's the thread that runs through every 'fear not' in the Bible. The presence of God is the antidote to the fear of everything else.
