Read along.
1 Peter 5:7 — 'Cast all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.' This is one of the most tender verses in the Bible, and it's also one of the most commanding.
'Cast' isn't a gentle word. It's the word for throwing something. Like throwing a heavy pack off your back because you can't carry it anymore. That's the action Peter is calling for.
And it's 'all your anxieties.' Not the big spiritual ones. Not the ones you think God cares about. All of them. The 3 a.m. ones. The petty ones. The ones you're embarrassed to admit.
The reason you can do this? 'Because he cares for you.' Not because you're strong enough to let go. Not because you've earned the right to rest. But because God actually cares about you. That's the safety net.
