John 10:10 — 'The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.'
Jesus puts two characters next to each other. The thief and the shepherd. Each one comes with a purpose.
The thief — steal, kill, destroy. That's the resume of the enemy of your soul. Anything in your life doing those three things is not from God.
Jesus — life. Not just survival. Life. And then he adds the bonus word: abundantly. More than enough. Overflowing. Full to the brim.
So a test: is this leading me toward life or toward destruction? Toward freedom or toward chains? Jesus' fingerprints are on the life. Always.
