Proverbs 16:9 — 'The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.'
Notice — the verse doesn't shame planning. Planning is part of being human. Make plans. Set goals. Think ahead.
But execution belongs to God. He establishes the steps. That means he decides which ones actually happen, and when.
'Establishes' means makes firm, confirms, brings to pass. The plans you make get filtered through the Lord who knows the bigger picture.
This is a partnership. You plan. He directs. And sometimes the plans get rerouted in ways you didn't expect — and you find out later it was mercy.
