Romans 10:9 — 'If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.'

Two parts. Mouth and heart. External and internal. Public and private. Both matter.

'Confess that Jesus is Lord.' That's a declaration of allegiance. Caesar isn't Lord. Money isn't Lord. You aren't Lord. Jesus is.

'Believe that God raised him from the dead.' Trust the resurrection. Because if Jesus is risen, then everything he said is true.

And the result: 'you will be saved.' Not maybe. Will. The promise is full salvation for anyone who responds.
