Delight is the command. Not duty. Not bare obedience. Actual enjoyment of God. He is the object — not his gifts, but him.
The promise sounds like a blank check, but it isn't. Read it again. The Lord gives you the desires of your heart, but only after delight is doing its work.
Delight reshapes desire. The longer you delight in God, the more your wants line up with his. The things you start asking for are the things he was already eager to give.
