John 8:12 — 'Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.'
Another 'I am' statement. Each one tells you something Jesus does for you that nothing else can. This one is about light.
Light is what people need most. Not in the literal sense — we have lamps. In the deeper sense — knowing what's real, where to go, who to be. Jesus says he is that.
Whoever follows him won't walk in darkness. Notice the word follow. Not just admire from a distance. Walk after him, and you walk in the light.
And the light of life. The two things go together. The light Jesus gives is the kind that makes you alive — not just informed but transformed.
