1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 — 'Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.'

Rejoice always. Not because everything is good, but because God is good in all of it. Joy here is a chosen orientation, not a constant feeling.

Pray without ceasing. Not nonstop kneeling. An ongoing conversation. A running awareness that God is here and you can talk to him about anything.

Give thanks in all circumstances. Not for everything — but in everything. Even in hard places, you can find something to thank God for, and that practice changes you.

And notice the bonus. This is God's will for you. People ask what God's will is. Three habits, right here. Start there.
