Hebrews 12:1-2 — 'Let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith.'

Right after Hebrews 11 — the great chapter of faith heroes — the author points back. They're a cloud of witnesses. Their lives say: this is possible. Keep running.

Lay aside weights. Not just sin. Anything that slows you. Distractions, schedules, habits. Drop what you don't need so you can run lighter.

Endurance is the key word. Not speed. The Christian life is a long race, and the winner is the one who keeps going.

And the fuel is your gaze. Looking to Jesus. The eyes drift to him, and the legs keep moving. Lose sight of him and you slow down. So look — and run.
