Matthew 6:9 — 'Pray then like this: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.'

'Our Father' is the first word. Relationship before request. The God you pray to is family, and you are praying alongside others, not alone.

'In heaven' anchors it. The Father isn't a soft grandfather. He is the Father who sits enthroned, with all authority. Tender and sovereign at once.

Hallowed means treated as holy, set apart, revered. The first thing we ask for isn't our needs. It's that God's name would be honored — in our lives and on the earth.

Notice the order. Get God-sized first. When God is properly large in your mind, the requests that follow are framed correctly.
