Ephesians 2:10 — 'For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.'

Workmanship translates the Greek word poiema — where we get the word poem. You are God's craftsmanship. A line of meaning he is writing into the world.

Then comes the purpose. Created for good works. Notice the order. Saved by grace in the previous verse. Created for works in this one. Works don't earn salvation. They flow from it.

And the works themselves are prepared in advance. There are good things today with your name on them. Not vague good vibes — specific kindnesses, specific obediences, specific people.

So identity comes first. Workmanship. Beloved. Saved. From there, you walk into the works. Not striving to be enough — already enough, and stepping into what was waiting.
