John 14:6 — 'Jesus said to him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'

Three claims at once. The way — how you get to God. The truth — what is finally real. The life — what makes you alive in the deepest sense. He stacks them.

The word people stumble on is 'the.' Not a way among many. The way. This sounds narrow until you remember Jesus is the most welcoming narrow door ever built. Anyone may come.

And notice when he says it. The disciples are scared. He's about to die. Instead of softening, he steadies them with a massive claim about himself. Anchors in storms have to be solid.

Exclusivity and welcome live together in John. One door — but the door is wide open, and the one standing at it has nail prints in his hands.
