Romans 12:2 — 'Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.'
Conforming happens automatically. Put any object in a mold, and it takes the shape. The world is constantly pressing you into its shape — its values, its hurries, its fears. Without resistance, you take that shape.
Transformation is different. The verb is passive — God does it. But the place he does it is your mind. What you think about, what you feed on, what you believe to be true.
Renewing your mind isn't positive thinking. It's replacing the world's stories with God's truth, one verse, one prayer, one obedience at a time.
And the test of a renewed mind isn't a feeling. It's discernment — being able to see what God wants and then living it. You prove his will is good by doing it.
