For nothing will be impossible with God.
The angel's word to Mary — and to everyone facing an impossible task.
The episode in a glance.
- 01'Nothing will be impossible' — the scope is total.
- 02'With God' — the variable is his presence, not your ability.
- 03This was spoken to a virgin about to conceive.
- 04The context is promise, not wish.
Read along.
Luke 1:37 — 'For nothing will be impossible with God.' The angel Gabriel says this to Mary after telling her she will conceive as a virgin. Mary's response is logical: 'How will this be?' And Gabriel answers with this.
'Nothing will be impossible.' Not 'most things.' Not 'reasonable things.' Nothing. The scope is absolute. With God, the category of impossibility collapses.
'With God' is the key phrase. The power isn't distributed generally. It's concentrated in him. When God is present and working, limits change. Physics bends. Dead ends open.
And the context matters. This isn't a blank check for every human wish. It's a promise tied to God's word and God's will. When God speaks a promise, nothing can stop it.
If God has spoken something over your life, hold onto this verse. The obstacles are real. The odds are long. But nothing is impossible with God. That's not optimism. That's theology.
