Colossians 3:15 — 'And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.' Paul is writing about what life looks like after you've put on the new self.

'Let the peace of Christ rule.' Rule is an umpire word. In Greek it's brabeuo — to arbitrate, to decide, to settle disputes. Peace isn't just a feeling here. It's the umpire that calls balls and strikes in your decision-making.

When you're deciding what to do, what to say, where to go — let peace be the judge. Does this decision bring peace? Or does it bring anxiety, unrest, and division? Peace is the filter.

'In your hearts.' This is inner life. Not external circumstances. Your heart can be ruled by peace even when the world is loud. The umpire works inside.

And notice: 'to which indeed you were called.' Peace isn't just a nice extra. It's your calling. You were called into one body so that peace could rule. That's the design. That's the goal.
