Matthew 6:33 is Jesus' answer to worry: 'But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.'
Jesus has just spent the whole chapter talking about anxiety. Don't worry about what you'll eat, what you'll wear, what tomorrow holds. Then he gives the antidote: seek first.
'First' means priority. Not 'among other things.' Not 'when you have time.' First. Before anything else. The kingdom of God is the organizing principle of your life.
What is the kingdom? It's God's rule and reign. It's his will being done on earth as it is in heaven. It's living under his authority, participating in his purposes, and trusting his provision.
'And all these things will be added to you.' Jesus isn't promising luxury. He's promising provision. Food. Clothing. What you need. Not because you chased it, but because you chased him first.
