This is Luke's summary of the earliest church. Four habits, held together, formed the new community.
'Devoted' means persistent, committed, day after day. Not enthusiasm — discipline.
The apostles' teaching is what we now have as the New Testament. Fellowship meant deep, shared life. Breaking bread covered both meals and the Lord's Supper. Prayer was constant.
Strip away any of these four and the church loses something essential. Together they form the DNA of healthy Christian community.
