Romans 8:28: 'And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.'
This verse is often misquoted to mean every bad thing will turn out okay. That's not what Paul says.
'All things' — including suffering, loss, and the things that make no sense. Paul doesn't say they are good. He says they work together for good.
'For good' is defined in the next verse: being conformed to the image of Christ. God's good isn't comfort — it's transformation.
The promise is specifically for 'those who love God.' It's not a blanket guarantee for everyone. It's the steady confidence of the one trusting him.
