Proverbs 16:9: 'The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.'
Two truths held in tension. You plan. God directs. Both are real.
Notice the verse doesn't say 'don't plan.' Planning is appropriate. Wise people plan.
But the final word belongs to God. He establishes the actual steps — sometimes confirming your plan, sometimes redirecting it.
This frees you from two errors: passivity (refusing to plan because 'God will work it out') and anxiety (clutching your plans because 'it all depends on me'). Plan well. Hold loosely. Trust deeply.
