Hosea 6:1: 'Come, let us return to the Lord; for he has torn us, that he may heal us; he has struck us down, and he will bind us up.'

Israel has wandered far from God. Hosea's word is an invitation: come home.

'For he has torn us, that he may heal us.' The discipline isn't the end. It's the means. God tears to heal.

Verse 2 says: 'After two days he will revive us; on the third day he will raise us up.' Read with New Testament eyes, this points to resurrection.

Returning is always available. No matter how far you've wandered, the road home is open. The God who tore is the God who heals.
