Elisha's servant wakes up and sees an enemy army surrounding the city. He runs to Elisha terrified: 'What shall we do?'
Elisha says: 'Do not be afraid, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.' Then he prays: 'O Lord, please open his eyes that he may see.'
The servant looks again, and the mountain is full of horses and chariots of fire around Elisha. God's army was always there. The servant just couldn't see it.
Most of life is lived with eyes that only see the visible. The Bible keeps telling us there's more in the room than meets the eye — and the prayer worth praying is 'open my eyes.'
