God sends the prophet Nathan to David with a promise: your throne will last forever. It's the original covenant that points all the way to Jesus.
David's response is one of the most beautiful prayers in the Bible. He sits down before the Lord and says: 'Who am I, O Lord God, and what is my house, that you have brought me thus far?' Then: 'There is none like you, O Lord, and there is no God besides you.'
Notice his posture. He's a king, but he's sitting before a bigger king. He's powerful, but he knows where the real power lives.
When God does something for you that you didn't earn and can't repay, worship isn't optional. Awe is the natural reaction of someone who finally sees clearly.
