Psalm 37:4 — 'Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.'
'Delight yourself in the Lord.' Take pleasure in him. Find joy in who he is. Not just in what he can do for you.
When God himself is your delight, something interesting happens. The desires of your heart start to change.
'He will give you the desires of your heart.' Not because God is a vending machine. But because when you delight in him, your desires get aligned with his.
It's not 'tell God what you want and he'll deliver.' It's 'love God, and you'll find your wants reshaped — and then he gives them.'
