You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes.
The promise that turned scared disciples into world-changers.
The episode in a glance.
- 01'Power' is dunamis — dynamic, supernatural ability.
- 02It comes when the Holy Spirit comes — not from effort.
- 03The result is witness — telling what you've seen.
- 04The geography expands: Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, the ends of the earth.
Read along.
Acts 1:8 — 'But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.'
'Power.' The Greek word is dunamis — the root of dynamite. It's not human effort. It's supernatural ability that comes from the Holy Spirit.
And the power has a purpose. Not personal hype. Witness. Telling people what you've seen Jesus do.
The geography is interesting. Start where you are — Jerusalem. Then Judea — the surrounding region. Then Samaria — the people you'd rather avoid. Then the ends of the earth.
The Spirit's power always pushes outward. If your faith is only about you, you're missing what the power is for.
