Colossians 3:23 — 'Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.'
Whatever covers everything. Not just church work. Not just visible work. The dishes. The spreadsheet. The diaper change. Whatever.
Heartily means with the whole heart. Not half-engaged. Not phoning it in. Bring all of you to it.
And the audience changes. As for the Lord. The real boss isn't your manager or your customers. It's Jesus. He sees the work no one else notices.
The next verse adds the reward. From the Lord you will receive the inheritance. So work today not because your evaluator is watching but because your Savior is.
