Proverbs 27:17 — 'Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.'
Sharpening requires friction. Two pieces of iron grinding against each other. Real friendship is sometimes uncomfortable because growth is.
Iron requires iron. A soft material can't sharpen a hard one. You need friends with strong convictions, who can push back, who can speak truth.
Friendship is formative, not just enjoyable. The people in your inner circle are shaping who you're becoming whether you intend it or not.
So choose deliberately. Don't drift into your friendships. Pick a few people who love Jesus and love you enough to sharpen you. And be that kind of friend back.
