Romans 15:13 is a prayer Paul speaks over the Roman Christians: 'May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.'

Notice the title: 'the God of hope.' Hope isn't just something God gives. It's who he is. He is the source, the ground, the reason for every future confidence.

Joy and peace come 'in believing.' Not in achieving. Not in having everything figured out. They come from trusting God — and the Holy Spirit makes that trust possible.

And the result? You 'abound in hope.' The prayer starts with hope and ends with more hope. Hope is the engine that produces joy and peace, and then those produce more hope.

This is a cycle, not a line. The more you believe, the more joy and peace you have. The more joy and peace you have, the more hope abounds. And it all comes from the God who is hope itself.
