Philippians 1:6: 'And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.'
Paul is 'sure.' Not hopeful, not optimistic — sure. His confidence rests on a fact about God, not a fact about us.
'He who began a good work in you' — notice who started it. Not you. God initiated. You responded.
'Will bring it to completion.' God doesn't abandon projects. What he begins, he finishes. Your spiritual growth isn't suspended over a cliff.
'At the day of Jesus Christ' — the completion point is the day Jesus returns. Until then, you're a work in progress. After then, finished.
