Numbers 23:19: 'God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?'
This is spoken by Balaam, a pagan prophet hired to curse Israel — and instead found himself blessing them. Even his testimony confirms who God is.
'God is not man, that he should lie.' God doesn't shade the truth. He doesn't break promises when they get inconvenient.
'Or a son of man, that he should change his mind.' Humans pivot. God doesn't. His character is the most stable thing in the universe.
Whatever promise of God you're tempted to doubt today — read this verse. The God who made it can't unmake it.
