Isaiah 55:8-9: 'For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.'

God isn't saying he thinks the same way we do, only better. He's saying his categories are different.

When God's plan doesn't match yours, the gap may not be that he made a mistake. It may be that you're working with a smaller frame.

'As the heavens are higher than the earth.' That's not a small difference. It's a difference of category, scope, and scale.

This is freeing. You don't have to understand to obey. You don't have to reverse-engineer God's plans. You trust the one whose thoughts are higher than yours.
